Referrals for you

You may have heard of Dr. Tom Stanley.  I really enjoyed his book, “The Millionaire next door”, especially because he said auctioneers were great candidates to be millionaires. Currently, I am listening to one of his more recent books called “Networking with Millionaires”.  Tom Stanley is a wonderful story teller and it’s a great listen, but to be honest, I have been having trouble getting my head around the whole concept.

My problem is two fold.  First, my clients are rarely millionaires.  Second, the whole concept runs counter to everything I have ever done as a mass marketer coming from a mass marketing background and mentality.

But then, I had the chance to meet best selling author Michael Maher last Wednesday. He wrote the 7L book about the “Seven Levels of Communication”; or for those wanting the Reader’s Digest version: advertising bad; belly to belly good.  Again, not the perfect match for my philosophy and mentality, but nevertheless, he was an interesting speaker. And as I was sitting there, it occurred to me that although I receive many referrals, I should show more appreciation for them.

More importantly, Michael said something that I can embrace entirely. He asked me to commit to give 100 referrals over the next year and develop relationships that will reciprocate referrals.  So here it is. I want to refer business to you and your referrals.

Currently, I have clients or personal needs for the following services
Mortgage broker – must be versed in RD, FHA and 203k and conventional
Originator to handle TIL, GFE, and disclosures for seller finance transactions
Carpenters and contractors
Electrician
Plumber
Conventional mortgage brokers, RD and FHA specialists,
Title company/closing attorney
Home inspector
Insurance agent
PR specialist
Accountant

A couple of ground rules apply. First, I can only refer to competent people and preferably those that are first rate and tops in their field.  Second, speedy and efficient response and customer service are always expected.

I look forward to your feedback.
Sincerely
Bert Cox.
